Movemaker Unveils $2 Million Web3 Grant Program and Innovation Hub in Hong Kong

Movemaker, the official community organization of the Aptos Foundation, has launched a $2 million grant program and a new Aptos Space collaboration hub in Hong Kong. The initiative aims to accelerate Web3 development in the Chinese-speaking region and globally.

The grant program, backed by multimillion-dollar funding from the Aptos Foundation, will support developers building on the Aptos blockchain. The program focuses on key sectors, including decentralized finance (DeFi), artificial intelligence, payment solutions, stablecoins, and real-world assets.

“Strong community is the only way for Web3 to fulfill the promise of permissionless networks and decentralized economies,”

said Ash Pampati, Head of Ecosystem at Aptos Foundation.

“For builders obsessed with this outcome, physical environments like Aptos Space in Hong Kong are game-changers.”

Movemaker is offering strategic and technical guidance, branding support, and funding to accelerate the growth of promising projects. Developers and projects interested in the program can apply on Movemaker’s website.

The newly established Aptos Space in Hong Kong will be a hub for blockchain developers, fostering collaboration through meetups and developer events. The physical space aims to bring together local and global talent to support the advancement of blockchain technology in the region.

The initiative is part of Movemaker’s broader expansion strategy for 2025, which includes launching an ambassador program, hosting two large-scale builder events, and forging partnerships with government agencies and media organizations.

The Chinese-speaking community is an invaluable part of the Aptos ecosystem, and a massive driver of growth across all of Web3,

Said Avery Ching, CEO and co-founder of Aptos Labs.

The launch of Movemaker highlights a deep commitment to this community and its role in driving Web3 innovation.

Movemaker’s funding is structured to prioritize developers from the Chinese-speaking region while welcoming global teams to participate in the ecosystem. Hong Kong, as a regional hub, will play a central role in community-building efforts, developer engagement, and regulatory collaboration.

The initiative aligns with Aptos’ goal of increasing blockchain adoption and innovation. In its first year, Movemaker aims to onboard one million new users, boost on-chain activity by a factor of five, and expand its community influence across Web3.

As part of its ecosystem expansion, Movemaker plans to collaborate with investment firms, user communities, media partners, and infrastructure providers to integrate on-chain and off-chain resources. The long-term goal is positioning Aptos as a major player in the Chinese-speaking Web3 ecosystem and beyond.

Movemaker, co-launched by Ankaa Labs and BlockBooster, serves as Aptos’ official representative in the Chinese-speaking market. The organization operates with autonomous decision-making authority, allocating resources efficiently to support developers and ecosystem builders.

Developers and community members interested in joining the initiative can visit Movemaker’s website or follow its updates on social media. The organization encourages entrepreneurs, investors, and blockchain enthusiasts to collaborate and contribute to the growth of the Aptos ecosystem in the region.
