More Details Emerge on the Trump Organization’s Foray into the Metaverse

Donald Trump is making a bold move into the metaverse with plans for a blockchain-powered digital empire. On February 24, 2025, DTTM Operations LLC, the entity responsible for managing the Trump brand’s trademarks, filed a trademark application for the name “TRUMP” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The filing suggests an ambitious virtual ecosystem, featuring TRUMP-branded digital goods, cryptocurrency transactions, and a dedicated NFT marketplace. The Trump brand, known for real estate and media, is now tapping into blockchain and the booming metaverse economy.

This isn’t Trump’s first venture into crypto-related trademarks. Earlier this month, Trump Media and Technology Group applied for six trademarks tied to investment products tracking Bitcoin, the U.S. manufacturing sector, and the energy industry, including a Truth.Fi Bitcoin Plus ETF—though it has yet to be registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Comprehensive Virtual Ecosystem

The Trump Organization’s metaverse vision is shaping up to be a fully immersive virtual society, offering digital commerce, entertainment, and education. According to the trademark filing submitted by Michael Santucci of 500 Law, the project will include virtual restaurants, music, and other entertainment experiences, along with an online retail marketplace selling a wide range of digital goods—from everyday items like virtual furniture and beverages to luxury collectibles such as Trump-branded jewelry, cologne, and keychains.

Beyond virtual shopping, the platform also aims to provide “simulation-based training services”, allowing users to study public service, business, civics, fundraising, real estate, construction, and hospitality management. This suggests that the Trump-branded digital world could serve as both an entertainment hub and an educational resource.

However, one key stipulation raises concerns about content control and interoperability—the platform will only host images, texts, videos, and sound files authorized by “the 45th and 47th President.” This limitation casts doubt on whether users will be able to bring in existing NFTs from outside platforms or transfer Trump-branded digital assets elsewhere, a feature that is typically expected in NFT ecosystems.

Strategic Expansion into Digital Assets

A TRUMP-branded NFT and cryptocurrency marketplace is one of the most intriguing aspects of this Trump Organization’s metaverse plans, according to the trademark filing. While details remain limited, the application suggests that the platform will offer blockchain-authenticated digital assets, all officially authorized by the Trump Organization.

The marketplace is expected to include:

  • Trump-Themed NFT Collectibles – Digital trading cards, video clips, and tokenized memorabilia featuring the former president and his brand.
  • Exclusive Virtual Merchandise – A range of Trump-branded digital apparel, accessories, and metaverse-ready assets for customization.
  • Tokenized Real Estate – Given Trump’s deep ties to real estate, speculation is growing that the platform could enable users to buy, sell, or lease virtual properties linked to the Trump brand.
  • Blockchain-Powered Loyalty Programs – A rewards-based ecosystem where NFT holders could gain access to exclusive content, live events, or even real-world perks.

If fully realized, this venture could position Trump’s metaverse project as a high-profile fusion of real estate, digital assets, and entertainment, tapping into the booming NFT and virtual commerce markets.

As the metaverse continues to evolve, such initiatives could redefine brand interactions and consumer experiences in digital environments.
