Truth Arts, the creative force behind the Illuminati and Goblintown NFT collections, has unveiled plans for a new video game titled Really Hard Driving Game. The announcement signals a major step for the company, known for its unconventional approach to digital art and blockchain projects, as it ventures into the gaming industry with backing from Epic Games and Steam.
The upcoming game, which is set in the Goblintown universe, will challenge players to navigate treacherous roads while driving a McGoblin Burger delivery truck. A trailer released by Truth Arts provided a glimpse into the chaotic and humor-driven gameplay, drawing comparisons to the endless runner format popularized by titles such as Temple Run. The game’s official pages are now live on Steam and Epic Games, and early playtesting opportunities have been made available for select users.
A Game With Viral Potential
Alexander Taub, co-founder and CEO of Truth Arts, emphasized the game’s focus on engaging content creation, noting that an integral part of its design is to provide streamers and players with tools to generate entertaining material. “The game is simple in its objective, beautiful in its world-building, and has built-in viral aspects,” Taub shared on social media. He added that the company is excited to see how streamers will interact with the game as it moves closer to release.
Despite its origins in Web3 culture, Really Hard Driving Game will not integrate blockchain technology or NFTs, making it a traditional gaming experience. This decision aligns with Steam’s longstanding ban on blockchain-based games while still allowing Truth Arts to expand the Goblintown brand in mainstream gaming spaces.
A New Chapter for Goblintown
Goblintown first gained attention as an NFT project featuring grotesque and whimsical characters, including trolls, dragons, and wizards. The collection was launched under a Creative Commons 0 (CC0) license, allowing for unrestricted creative use—an approach that previously led to Goblintown artwork appearing in the viral Steam game Only Up.
With Really Hard Driving Game, Truth Arts aims to build on that momentum while forging a new path in the gaming industry. The game is expected to enter early access by the end of March, with a full release following soon after. Meanwhile, Goblintown’s NFT market has responded positively to the announcement, with floor prices rising nearly 20% in the last 24 hours.
