ZachXBT, the on-chain detective who has helped recover over $350 million from crypto scams, is now an incident response advisor at Paradigm. In this role, he will help Paradigm’s portfolio companies tackle security threats while maintaining his independent investigations.
Paradigm co-founder Matt Huang praised the move, calling ZachXBT a “legend” in on-chain forensics and highlighting his contributions to recovering over $350 million for victims of hacks and scams.
“This is increasingly important as the industry grows. We’re excited for zachxbt to be joining Paradigm as an advisor. Nothing about his focus will change; we just want to support his ability to keep up the good work,” Huang stated in an X post.

Despite joining Paradigm, ZachXBT emphasized that his mission remains unchanged, stating that the opportunity allows him to continue helping the community and publishing investigations as before. He also expressed admiration for Paradigm’s commitment to security initiatives, including its support for Security Alliance, open-source research, and privacy advocacy.
With cyber threats increasing in the crypto space, Paradigm’s partnership with ZachXBT signals a broader industry push toward enhanced security measures and proactive fraud prevention.
A Strategic Alliance to Enhance Crypto Security
ZachXBT has amassed a strong following of over 800,000 on X and 70,000 subscribers on Telegram. His latest breakthrough investigation provided definitive proof that North Korea’s Lazarus Group was behind the $1.5 billion Bybit hack, solidifying his reputation as one of the most trusted independent crypto analysts.
His expertise aligns with Paradigm’s broader investment in Web3 security and infrastructure. In recent weeks, the venture firm led a $25 million Series A funding round for D3 Global, a Web3 domain infrastructure firm, and co-led a $24 million round for zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) startup Irreducible.
Beyond security, Paradigm has taken a firm stance on protecting crypto innovation. Last month, the firm called for faster Ethereum development and committed $1.25 million to aid Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm’s legal defense, reinforcing its position as a major player in the fight for privacy and decentralization.
With ZachXBT joining as an incident response advisor, Paradigm is doubling down on security efforts, ensuring that its portfolio companies are well-equipped to combat fraud, hacks, and regulatory pressure in the ever-evolving crypto space.
